reflection
In Reflection i found out that there are some people who don't have to change what they originally planed but many have to cut back due to time constraints. for my own capstone I believe that i will have to relook at my scope and see what i can actually accomplish vs what i want to do. As well i need to suffer the timeline even though i don't agree with it, many of the students said it would help me in the long run. All in all i believe i am on the right track for capstone.

Capstone proposal and timeline planning
How I built this timeline, really I took the
most practical approach I could think of first I laid out all the steps I would
have to do to complete the project that I wanted. From this and some mentor
talking I had to adjust the capstone a bit so It would be reasonable. From this
list of steps i broke it into three major sections Level, Character, and
playtest/extras. I then proceeded to break these down further into smaller
chunks that represented the tasks I needed to complete. From there I went and
did some research I found out the average time it would take to do these tasks,
then I multiplied this time by four. This gave me plenty of flexibility while
still giving me time at the end in case something goes wrong or If I want to do
extra promotional stuff. That’s the simple apraoch I used to craft the
timeline.

Peer Capstone Support Group PCSG \o/
Alrighty then I know the overreaching umbrella would be game design since ive decided to present my story via game design however i also wouldn't mind some storytellers from other media just to bounce and pitch the story itself off of. other opinions make a story stronger and reveal plot holes :)
I will most defently be using UDK (Unreal Development kit) and Maya. Also there's a very high chance of me using Photoshop cs6 when i get it cs5 until then and z brush for making normal maps and texture maps and alpha maps for stuff in game.

The Bigger Picture O-O big it is
We were put into pairs the other day to talk about capstones I was in a trio yes we oopsed. I gave a brief overview of my capstone and went on about how I really didn't feel that I knew for sure what medium I wanted to do. Now funny thing when the other person, can;t remember which of the trio it was, was describing what I said I heard bleh. yeah I was kicking myself I completely forgot to discuss the MOST IMPORTANT PART! the story itself. You see now that Ive heard someone else discussing what I was trying to get across I know that I need to work on my presentation of my ideas. Now I have decided what medium I'm going to use so I really need to find a way to better describe the story itself into a smaller more confined nutshell so it can fit in a short pitch rather than taking a 700 page document to describe it. As for the activity itself wow next time I get told to sit next to someone I don't know remind me to write down their names :/.

capstone ideas
Ok so for my capstone I've got the story/mythos I want to
use so my three ideas are going to be on how to actually display this to the
big ole world.
1. (yeah I like number points) Write a graphic novel of the
opening of the story, probably would be too long since it would take an ungodly
amount of pages but still it is a thought. graphic novels are awesome no more inspirations
needed
2. make the introductions area and allow people to interactively
play the beginning of the story, again the beginning of the story is huge so
odds of me getting even to the second out of four characters would be an issue
and the sheer size of the area Nirana (first of the four characters) traverses
at the beginning is ridiculous to do in udk…. was toying with udk and though
hmm this would be awesome to use as away to do capstone… udk then crashed and I
was like omg but still awesome to do capstone with minus the crashes.
3. Do a historical piece from the mythos preferably a back-story
piece on one of the four character. actually now that I think about it that
would be perfect use udk to make a campaign styled mission reliving serenity's
last operation. Would be able to use the thing as a multiplayer map as well! Inspiration
for this would probably be the opening of Skyrim and toying around with udk and
going BRILLIANT this will work

What is capstone?!
What do i think a capstone is, i think a capstone is the greatest opportunity to finally get the ideas Ive had in my head the past few years out in an awesome way that the world finally will see what Ive created. If others don't agree with my taste or style i don't honestly care that's what i find great about capstone if i was in industry the customer would decide not me this is my last chance to do what i truly want without being uber high in a big company or owning my own. And as Ive said i think the chance to truly express myself is what i will be getting from the capstone experience that and a taste of what its like to have MASSIVE stress barring down on you. Why do we spend two semesters well one it give us much more time to refine our ideas and because its not limited to a class it encourages us to put a lot more effort into it outside of class. Finally lets be honest if you did it in one semester it would look like crap :p!
